An unemployed man was shot dead while trying to stop a fight during a benefit dance in barangay Inayawan, Cebu City at dawn yesterday.
Jeremiah Galupo, 23, died of a gunshot wound in the back.
Police said the victim was with his 15-year-old sister and some friends when a trouble broke out in the disco at 2:30 a.m.
Galupo intervened when he learned that one of his friends was involved in the fight.
But while trying to pacify the warring parties, a certain Jefrox shot Galupo, police said.
The gunman fled after the incident.
The victim was brought to the Cebu City Medical Center but died along the way.
Follow-up operation to arrest the gunman is on going, police said.
