A policeman set to retire from service was arrested with drug sniffing paraphernalia in barangay Calamba, Cebu City on Thursday night.
Charges were filed yesterday against PO3 Fraksidy Abalo, 54, at the Cebu City Prosecutors’ Office.
Abalo’s companion identified as Bobby Inoc, 29, was also arrested.
Senior Supt. Jesus Gaquing, chief of the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO), ordered an administrative investigation against Abalo, who is assigned in Madridejos town, northern Cebu.
Gaquing said he also ordered Abalo to undergo a drug test.
Operatives of the San Nicolas police went to barangay Calamba past 9 p.m. after receiving a report about the presence of an armed man along A. Lopez Street.
When they arrived at the area, police spotted Abalo and Inoc near a shanty.
Police said they suspect that the shanty was used as a drug den.
Police said Abalo was caught carrying shabu sniffing paraphernalia such as a lighter, tinfoil and tooter.
SPO4 Reynaldo Origenes of the San Nicolas police said Abalo's presence in the area was suspicios since he lives in Talisay City.
Abalo claimed that he was in the area to collect payments from the customers of his wife, who runs a lending business.
