A WIDOW and her house helper were found dead with stab wounds in their house in barangay Cogon, Bogo City at dawn Wednesday.

Police said robbery appeared to be the motive in the killing of Beatriz Aguisanda Ocaba, 84, and her stay-in helper Merlinda Gallardo Olmares, 49.

Police said the attack could have taken place between 2 a.m. to 3 a.m. on Wednesday.

The women’s bodies were found by a couple, Linar and Emelgin Invento, distant relatives of Ocaba who visited the house in A and B subdivision past 3 a.m.

A relative in the United States had texted them to check on the widow because she wasn’t answering phone calls.

When the couple arrived at the house, they saw the bloodied victims slumped on the floor of the living room.

The couple then called up the police.

SPO3 Rolando Torquido of the Bogo City Police Station said about P20,000 in cash and assorted jewelry were reported missing from the house.

Police said the culprits entered the house by detaching the jalousie blades of a window at the back of the house.

Police are still investigating the crime.

Ocaba was the aunt of retired Senior Supt. Alberto Aguisanda, former deputy director for administration of the Cebu Provincial Police Office.
