AGENTS of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7) arrested a couple in barangay Pahina Central on Wednesday night.
Suspects Marivic Villanueva and her boyfriend Allen Sitoy denied that a buy-bust operation took place or that they were involved in the drug trade.
Villanueva said her only fault was that she shouted at the PDEA-7 agents when her boyfriend was arrested.
Villanueva, who had just delivered their third child, said she went out of their house when she heard a commotion.
The woman said she intervened when she saw PDEA-7 agents arresting her boyfriend.
The woman said she accompanied Sitoy to the PDEA-7 office and it was only there that she was informed that she was placed under arrest for selling drugs.
Sitoy salso denied being a drug pusher.
Sitoy said he was sitting on a chair outside their house when PDEA-7 agents arrived and accosted him.
PDEA-7 agent Mark Maramba said the couple was involved in selling drugs and were arrested after a buy-bust operation outside the house.
The agent said Sitoy handed over a pack of suspected shabu to a poseur buyer then gave the P200 payment to his girlfriend.
When law enforcers were about to arrest the couple, Villanueva threw away a canister containing four small packs of suspected shabu.
PDEA-7 said Villanueva was previously arrested for a similar offense but was able to post bail.
Charges are expected to be filed against the couple today.
