A COURT denied a motion for reconsideration filed by a group which asked for the stopping of the operations of two towing companies contracted by the Cebu City government.
RTC Judge Silvestre Maamo Jr. of Branch 17 said there was insufficient basis to reverse his previous ruling. He earlier denied a petition for a temporary restraining order filed against One Stop and Road Warriors Towing and Motor Services.
The complainants, led by Tinago barangay councilor Joel Garganera, said the companies operated without public bidding, endorsement from the traffic office, or a resolution from the City Council, causing ?grave injustice? to the city.
The court ruled that Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña had met the requirements of the Local Government Code in signing a provisional contract with the two companies.
