AT LEAST seven burglaries were reported in Cebu City during the celebration of the All Saints' and All Souls' Days.
Two shops, closed for business for the two-day holiday, and several houses were among the target of breakins.
Thieves broke into the San Fernando Funeral Homes along Katipunan Street, barangay Calamba, Cebu City on Monday and took a computer’s central processing unit.
Thieves also entered Dynamic Turbo Services, a machine shop in barangay Kasambagan, and stole computer parts worth P16,200.
In barangay Punta Princesa, Josephine Casas lost jewelry worth P35,000 and a videoke monitor. Renato Maylon Sr.’s house was ransacked. He lost a motorcycle muffler worth P1,500.
Burglars also stole a Chinese gold ring and MP4 player worth P6,800 from Josephine Gabaya’s house in MJ Cuenco Avenue at dawn.
On Sunday, Fritzie Gilo, 21, of barangay Zapatera, said she lost her P6,000 DVD player at home. Burglars took P50,000 worth of belongings from the house of Corazon Arnoco in barangay Tisa.
