TWO men were wounded in two bloody incidents that happened during a disco in separate barangays in Daanbantayan town, northern Cebu on Saturday.
Reden Areglo, a 41-year-old deaf-mute, was hacked repeatedly shortly after he stopped a fight between three men inside a disco in sitio Tabur, barangay Poblacion.
Police said Areglo was on the dance floor when fellow disco-goers Rex Arsolon, Michael Condes and Fricks Mendoza fought around 2:30 a.m. Areglo separated the three.
Arsolon ran but was chased by Condes and Mendoza.
When they failed to locate Arsolon, Condes and Mendoza returned to the disco and without warning attacked Areglo with a bolo.
Condes and Mendoza fled after the incident.
Areglo was brought by friends to the town’s hospital.
In barangay Calapi, Jonathan Arcenal, 30, was also hospitalized after he was attacked by two men, whom he figured in a previous fight.
About 1 a.m., Arcenal was dancing when Teodoro Valiente appeared from behind and stabbed him in the body.
Arcenal was also mauled by Valiente's companion Angel Maluya. PO2 Alfredo Mandal, an off-duty policeman who lives in the barangay, saw the commotion and arrested Valiente and Maluya.
