A barangay tanod and a housewife were killed in separate shooting incidents in southern towns of Cebu.
Martin Alingalon, 34, a tanod of barangay Cabungahan in Naga City, was sleeping with his wife and children when he was attacked.
Police said the wife of the victim tagged their neighbor Bartolome Dejillas, 35, as the gunman.
The victim suffered two gunshot wounds in the body.
The wife told the police they were asleep when bursts of gunfire rang out.
Martina told police that when she woke up, she saw Dejillas pointing a gun at her husband.
Martina said she asked the suspect why he shot Martin but the gunman ran.
The victim was declared dead when brought to the South General Hospital in barangay Tuyan, Naga City.
Police said personal grudges could be the motive behind the shooting.
In Moalboal town, a 36-year-old woman was shot dead while sleeping in her house in barangay Buguil on Sunday night.
Thelma Rozonable died of a gunshot in the left eye, police said.
Before the shooting, Rozonable had a conversation with her husband Rene and sister-in-law.
The woman later told her husband that she would sleep ahead and went to her room on the second floor of the house.
Around 11:45 p.m., a gunshot rang out.
Rene Boy, the victim?s husband, and her sister went outside the house to check but saw no one.
Rene went up to their room and saw his bloodied wife.
The husband brought his wife to the Barili District Hospital where the woman was declared dead by attending physicians.
PO1 Rommel Gaco of the Moalbola police said the gunman may have entered the house unnoticed because there was no bullet hole on the walls of the house.
