This was Provincial Police Chief Jesus Gaquing's reaction to former Compostela mayor Gilbert Wagas' allegations of police singling out illegal activities of Compostela town.
Gaquing said the raid at the back of the Compostela public market was conducted by personnel of the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) who were on their way to the Cebu City from Danao City where they filed a case against a person they arrested earlier.
They conducted the raid after receiving information of illegal gambling activities at the back of the market.
Gaquing said the raid was not planned.
No one was arrested on Thursday's raid but police confiscated “hantak” paraphernalia and about P1,360 left by the bettors.
Gaquing has ordered an investigation of allegations that a multicab blocked the police vehicle after the raid.
Gaquing also oredered the Compostela police investigated for their failure to stop the illegal gambling activities near the police station.

Wagas also denied the allegations against him. He said these were were politically-motivated.
Compostela town Mayor Ritchie Wagas, Gilbert's younger brother, said he would not entertain such allegations since he was busy preparing for the town fiesta.
He, however, said that he would not tolerate any illegal activity in the town.
He said he would even lead the policemen in operations to arrest gamblers.
