A 17-YEAR-OLD boy was shot and killed by three security guards, who accused him and his companions of stealing damaged hog feeds inside a piggery in barangay Owak, Asturias town, western Cebu.
Benjie Montero died of several gunshot wounds in the body.
According to the police, Montero, Reynaldo Mimil, 35, and a 16-year-old companion were shot by security guards Edwin Daigdigan, Hembren Abel and Frankensen Dusil.
The three security guards told the police that they checked the surroundings of the piggery shortly before midnight on Sunday and spotted the three stealing damaged hog feeds.
The security guards claimed that the three fired at them first when the guards tried to apprehend them.
Montero was declared dead when he and the other boy were brought to the Balamban District Hospital.
Milmil was arrested and later turned over to the police.
The three security guards were also arrested.
Police will investigate whether a shootout took place.
No guns were recovered from Montero and his companions, police said. /Correspondent Chito Aragon
