A foreigner was killed after leaping from the sixth floor of a hotel in Lapu-Lapu City shortly before noon yesterday.
Police failed to immediately identify the victim because investigators did not find any identification card, said SPO2 Rolito Jumao-as of the Lapu-Lapu police.
Police said the victim could be of Middle Eastern-descent. He was about five feet and seven inches in height and was believed to be in his late 20s.
The foreigner wore a stripe blue and white T-shirt, gray beach short and a pair of black slippers.
According to the police, the man arrived at the Crown Regency Hotel along Maximo Patalinjug Avenue in barangay Basak, Lapu-lapu City about 11 a.m.
He asked if there was an available room.
Billman Ronald Ferrater, accompanied the foreigner to Room 616 on the sixth floor.
Ferrater told the police that when he opened the door, the foreigner ran to the terrace and jumped.
The foreigner landed on the ground face down, the police said.
Paramedics from the Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation brought the foreigner to the Mactan Doctor’s Hospital where he died three hours later.
