AT LEAST 12 female entertainers including three minors were rescued by police inside a nightclub along Escario Street, barangay Camputhaw Tuesday night.
The “entertainment manager” Glenda Teo was arrested and faces charges of anti-trafficking at the Cebu City Prosecutor's Office.
City Intelligence Branch (CIB) deputy chief Sen. Insp. Aileen Recla said the raid was coordinated with the International Justice Mission (IJM) office.
The IJM is an international group focused on the welfare of minors exploited.
Recla said one of his men posed as a customer and asked the girl to go out with him.
When the money was received by Teo, she was arrested immediately.
The 12 female entertainers were rescued afterwards.
Based on the registration, the bar is owned by Sario Cortes.
The 12 female entertainers were turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). /Correspondent Chito Aragon
