THE BODY of an unidentified woman who was shot in the head was found in Cebu City?s South Road Properties (SRP) shortly after midnight yesterday.
Police said the woman was in her early 20s, of medium build, and around 5 feet 2 inches tall. She was wearing a striped sleeveless shirt, and a pair of shorts.
PO3 Romualdo Vellahermosa of the Cebu City Police Office?s (CCPO) Mobile Patrol Group said he and his team spotted the body while on routine patrol in the SRP.
Responding paramedics said the woman had been dead for some time.
Investigators found P700 and a disposable lighter on the body. It was uncertain if the woman was killed where she was found, or was dumped there by her killers.
Police are asking families with missing members fitting the description of the woman to help identify the body.
Insp. Mario Monilar, chief of CCPO?s homicide section, said his office was also looking through reports of missing persons from police offices of neighboring cities to see if anyone with the woman?s description has disappeared. /Correspondent Chito O. Aragon
