WHAT FIRST seemed to be playful teasing ended in violence when a vendor at the Mandaue Public Market was stabbed to death late Tuesday afternoon.
Elvin Jusoy, 28, a resident of barangay Tipolo, died from a single stab wound allegedly inflicted by a person whom other vendors only identified as “Adolfo” or “Ompong,” a native of Dalaguete town.
Witnesses said Jusoy had been teasing Adolfo, calling him “crazy” and “mentally retarded.” Annoyed, Adolfo pulled out a knife and stabbed Jusoy in the chest.
Adolfo walked away, bringing with him his knife, while other vendors called the police.
Police found Jusoy profusely bleeding near his stall. He died while police were bringing him to a hospital.
Police are still looking for the suspect.
