THE BODY of a 28-year-old man was retrieved from below a cliff along the Transcentral highway in Balamban town on Thursday morning.

Pedring Engreso suffered several abrasions in different parts of his body after he fell about 70 meters down a cliff in barangay Cansomoroy.

According to Germano Pacaña, a habal-habal (motorcycle-for-hire) driver, Engreso was his passenger from Cebu City.

When they reached the cliff, Engreso asked Pacaña to stop as he needed to relieve himself.

Pacaña started to wonder where Engreso was when he failed to return.

The driver followed the path Engreso took but he was nowhere to be found.

But he heard scuffling noises from below the side of the cliff and suspected that Engreso had fallen over.

He immediately reported the incident to the barangay officials, who organized a team of policemen and residents to retrieve Engreso from down the cliff. Correspondent Rene F. Alima
