TALISAY CITY, Philippines - A woman suspected of peddling drugs was arrested by provincial policemen after a raid in her house in Talisay City, Cebu on Saturday night yielded 104 sachets of powder suspected to be shabu.
Restituta “Rustic” Pangatungan was in the police list as a level three drug pusher, which means she can dispose of about 500 grams of shabu in a week, according to Erson Digal, Deputy Provincial Police Director.
Digal said the woman supplies illegal drugs in Cebu’s 1st district towns.
Members of the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operation Task Group raided the house in Sitio (district) Hawod, Barangay (village) Bulacao after a one-week surveillance.
The team was led by Senior Police Officer 4 Ernesto Navales and accompanied by a member of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas.
The raiding team had a search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Silvestre Maamo Jr. of Branch 17.
Also confiscated were three cell phones, P600 cash and drug paraphernalia.
Police cannot yet determine the worth of the confiscated illegal drugs pending testing at the Philippine National Police crime laboratory.
Digal said all police chiefs in the towns were ordered to conduct an operation against illegal drugs at least once a week.
A police station that performs poorly in the crackdown of illegal drugs will be reported to Senior Superintendent Carmelo Valmoria, the Cebu Provincial Police Office director.
