LAPU-LAPU CITY, Philippines - One of the six men who robbed a softdrinks warehouse in Barangay (village) Gun-ob on Saturday was identified by Lapu-Lapu policemen.

The group of Hermie Abergas of Mindanao robbed the warehouse owned by Samson Go according to Senior Police Officer 2 Fermin Donque of the Theft and Robbery Section (TRS) of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office

Superintendent Louie Oppus, chief of the Lapu-Lapu City police, said the identification of one of the robbers does not mean that the case is solved as the perpetrators remained at large.

Follow-up operations continue in search for the whereabouts of the six men.

Abergas has several pending arrest warrants for robbery cases.

The police chief said he once arrested Abergas when he robbed a gasoline station in Barangay Sangi.

Meanwhile, employees of the Mactan Rural Bank in Barangay Basak, which was robbed on January 18 by three men, identified one of the robbers.

Dorotheo Emperial was positively identified by the employees when the face of Emperial appeared on television and in a local newspaper as one of the suspects in the robbery of the A-1 Financial Services Inc. in Cebu City last week.

Earlier tagged as one of the bank robbers was Danilo Flores.

Oppus said the Lapu-Lapu police will continue coordinating with the Cebu City Police Office in their follow-up operations for the robbers’ arrest.
