‘Best companies to work for’

Firm makes it to Fortune’s 100 best list First Posted 08:50:00 02/08/2010

A global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company has been included in the Fortune Magazine's 2010 “100 Best Companies to Work For” list for two years in a row. Accenture was ranked No. 84 up from No. 97 in 2009.

Fortune Magazine's annual ranking, now on its 13th year, is a prestigious recognition of the best in workplace culture and talent initiatives.

“People are our greatest asset, and attracting, nurturing and developing the best talent remains a top priority,” said LaMae Allen deJongh, Managing Director, US Human Capital and Diversity of Accenture, in a statement.

“We are honored to be recognized once again as a leading employer of choice—particularly as we continue to actively recruit for a variety of skills in the United States and around the world,” DeJongh said.

Fortune highlights several of Accenture's leading initiatives including the firm's Smart Work program, designed to reduce non-critical business travel while maintaining high standards of client service, and more than 45 Telepresence locations that enable employees to hold virtual meetings with clients and colleagues around the world.

Accenture was also cited one of 22 companies in the US with at least 500 active job openings.

Accenture's other programs and initiatives for employees include career counseling where in 2009, the firm invested $800 million in training and development globally.
