A NEW company sees a huge potential market in online and over-the-phone shoppers in Metro Cebu, specifically mothers.
The Kumprahan Business Corp. said it is also targeting companies that want goods delivered to their offices.
“We see more people paying for ease like shopping online or over the phone and having it delivered to them, and so we launched bilivery.com and bilivery hotline on Oct. 29,” Kumprahan managing director Gladys S. Ceniza said in a recent press conference.
The service is intended for gated communities in Cebu as well as "offices like media outfits perhaps and areas with cooperatives as well like MEPZ (Mactan Export Processing Zone)."
The bilivery.com and Bilivery hotline of the Kumprahan Supermerkado require credit cards or electronic money for payments.
“As of now we still don't accept cash for our online shopping and deliveries but we are working on that,” Ceniza added.
She said that prices posted online are the same as that found in the Kumprahan Supermercado. The delivery charge is more or less the same as the taxi fare to get to the actual supermarket at the Bridges Town Center in Plaridel Street, barangay Alang Alang, Mandaue City.
While the online store is convenient, not all products are suitable for it.
“For some products like fish and other perishables I think people will really need to buy them in the store and not online because these are the products that you will have to touch and feel for their freshness. Other products like canned items can be ordered online, but if they would order meat online then we still accept it,” Ceniza said.
Shoppers are also entitled to rewards through their Kumpra Card.
“They earn points and then get discounts or items from the points that they gain overtime. For every one peso spent at Kumprahan Supermercado one gets a point in his Kumpra Card.”
The Kumprahan sa Merkado is a community market that combines the convenience of a supermarket with the prices of a "mercado" or wet market.
