THE recent sisterhood agreement between the Cebu Provincial government and the city of Rishon Lezion in Israel will open more opportunities for local traders and add more tourism prospects for Cebu.
Samuel Chioson, who was one of the 30 delegates of the trade mission to Israel in early September, said that the trade mission and sisterhood agreement would make Cebu more exposed to the outside world.
?When they (Israeli tourists) come here, we will also create business for our tourism sectors,? said Chioson, who is the president of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI).
?A lot of them still don't know where Cebu is, what we have to offer so through the trade mission we make ourselves known to them as well as learn from them too,? Chioson said.
Business matching is also done during trade missions where a Cebuano businessman will be matched with a businessman in the country for possible trading relationship in the future.
?Over the years that we have been doing trade missions, we find each delegate more and more interested to join because this is not only marketing we also can look into their culture or economy and can get ideas from them,? he said.
Chioson also announced a trade mission to India in November and for next year New Zealand and Australia .
?These trade missions for me is the best way to invite investors and stir economy of Cebu and produce a richer business environment for us,? he said.
