The Church of Mary Coredemptrix is celebrating the annual feast of Our Lady of Sorrows on Sept. 15.
This is the third year the church is celebrating the feast.
The nine-day novena Masses will start on Sept. 6 until Sept. 14.
A Holy Rosary will open the novena at 3:30 p.m. All Novena Masses will be held at 4 p.m. except on Sunday, which will be at 5 p.m.
Pilgrims and sponsors for each Novena Mass are welcome.
On Sept. 14, the fiesta eve, a solemn procession will start at 3 p.m. To symbolize the suffering of the Sorrowful Mother, everyone is encouraged to bring a crucifix and candle during the procession.
The Church of Mary Coredemptrix was inaugurated and blessed by Cebu Archbishop Ricardo Cardinal Vidal on Nov. 18, 2007.
The church was built through the efforts of benefactors. It is run by the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate (FFI), a religious community following the rule of St. Francis of Assisi.
The church is located at Purok 4, San Jose, Cebu City (the hill fronting the Order of the Discalced Augustinians).
It has a multi purpose hall for conferences and seminars, and a recording studio which can be used for a minimal fee.
The FFI will accept donations for the maintenance of the church and for the various apostolate and mission.
