OVER 60 contractors, developers, general managers of water districts and administrators of local government units from all over the country are expected to join the orientation seminar on construction dispute resolution on March 25 at the City Sports Club Cebu.
Organized by the Construction Industry Arbitration Commission (CIAC) and the Philippine Institute of Construction Arbitrators and Mediators Inc. (PICAM), the seminar will orient participants on the use of arbitration, mediation and other modes of alternative dispute resolution as a means to achieve speedy and impartial justice.
Topics of the seminar include ?How to avoid conflicts in construction contracts? by Engr. Ramon Allado, president of Allado Construction; ?Bulk water contracts? by Engr. Antonio Tompar, chairman of Mactan Rock Industries; ?Advantages of resolving construction disputes through CIAC? by lawyer Eduardo R. Ceniza, Philippine Airlines SVP and general counsel; and ?Problems encountered in contracts with local governments? by Salazar Institute of Technology president Doroteo Salazar.
