THE Mactan Export Processing Zone Safety and Security Council Inc. (MEZSSCI) has organized the MEZ Emergency Response Team (ERT) competition on March 20 at the MEZ football field in Lapu-Lapu City.
A motorcade will kick off the event at 6:30 a.m.
The program proper starts at 7 a.m.
To enhance vigilance among the members of company emergency responders and fire brigades who are tasked to prevent fires, attend to common first aid and rescue situations and promote awareness on emergency response among employees, management and community are just few of the objectives of the contest.
The MEZSSCI has invited various company Emergency Response Teams and Fire Brigades in Mactan Economic Zone and other Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) locations within Cebu to join in the contest.
The MEZ companies that have already confirmed their participation are Draka, Kerry Food, Lorlanda, Lear-Aquino, Lear-Gabriela, Lear-Lapu-Lapu, Lexmark, Makoto, Matluster Phils.-Japan Metals, Taiyo Yuden Phils. and Timex Phils.
The contest has two categories: Community category for all the barangay-based/community fire brigades/emergency response groups in Mactan Economic Zone and other PEZA locations within Cebu and Company locators category.
The winners will receive cash prizes plus trophies. Certificates of participation will also be given to all the participants.
