THE Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) has shown its commitment to the Race to Reduce Challenge that seeks to address climate change.
The challenge is a contest among the Aboitiz-owned companies, requiring them to reduce carbon emissions by lessening their consumptions of energy, water and paper.
The company that registers the highest reduction in their monthly consumption will be given recognition and rewards.
RAFI chief operating officer Dominica B. Chua said that through the program, RAFI can now assess its contribution to the total carbon emission.
?We will be recording our energy consumption and applying carbon emission measures in our day to day operations. In the process, we will become role models to other individuals and institutions,? Chua said.
The synchronized launching of the Aboitiz-wide challenge was held last March 8.
RAFI president Roberto Aboitiz led the ceremonial signing of support for Race to Reduce Challenge on this date at the Eduardo Aboitiz Development Studies Center in Cebu City.
