THE Girls Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) Visayas Region will be hosting the 35th National Encampment from April 16 to 24 at the Marina Yulo-Vargas Regional Program and Training Center, Capitol Hills, Cebu City.

The GSP 35th National Encampment, with ?Girls worldwide say? Together we can change the world? as its theme, is expected to gather 1,000 senior and cadet (high school and college) girl scouts from the 96 councils all over the country.

The nine-day camp will include activities that will take place not only in the campsite but also in the different areas in Cebu City.

All activities will focus on issues and concerns affecting the girls and their communities, in line with the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts? millennium development goals.

Encampment activities include a talk where campers discuss and exchange ideas and views regarding adolescent reproductive health.

Also, there will be a session on good governance.

During the session, campers will share about their rights and responsibilities as concerned citizens.

There will also be presentation of talents in arts and crafts, among the girl scouts.

Other activities include a visit to historical places and museums in Cebu dubbed ?Cultural Walk in the City,? community extension service inside the camp and adventure games and mountain trekking involving rock climbing, rappelling and obstacle games.

Interested individuals may visit the GSP Regional office at the Marina Yulo-Vargas Regional Program and Training Center with contact numbers 2536550 and 2384556.
