The Basilica del Sto. Niño de Cebu announced the holding of the 4th Huniño (Huni Halad Alang Kang Santo Niño) original songwriting contest.
The contest will highlight the commemoration of the 445th anniversry of the Kaplag or the finding of the miraculous image of Señor Sto. Niño in 1565.
For four years now, this contest has been very instrumental in promoting the devotion to Señor Sto. Niño through songs.
Acceptance of entries for the contest started last Feb. 15.
The deadline for submission of entries is on March 15.
Interested participants may get an entry form from the Rector?s Office of the Basilica del Sto. Niño.
Prizes at stake are P50,000 for the first place, P30,000 for the second place, P20,000, third place, and P10,000, 4th place.
Twelve entries that will qualify to the finals, which will be held on April 27, will automatically receive P5,000 each.
Sto. Niño devotees who want to sponsor or donate for the 4th Huniño may visit or contact to the Rector?s office of the Basilica at 255-6697 to 99 local 400.
