THE Junior Chamber International (JCI)-Cebu Inc. held its 62nd turnover and induction ceremonies at the Cebu City Marriott Hotel last Feb. 6 with Rachel Marguerite ?Cutie? Del Mar as one of the guest speakers.
Addressing the new set of officers, members and chapter representatives from all over the country, Del Mar acknowledged the organization?s role in developing young leaders who in turn will take lead roles in national development through its long history of community service.
She also offered to partner with the JCI in its program aligned with the tenet, ?Service to humanity is the best work of life.?
Del Mar?s ?HELP? Advocacy: Health, Education, Livelihood and Progress, is attuned to JCI?s recurring battlecry ?Be Better.?
Citing the foundation of results-driven public service laid down by her father, Deputy Speaker and JCI Senator Raul Del Mar, the younger Del Mar is ready for what she calls as a ?toughening process? that will test her sense of hard work, values and creativity in responding to the people?s ever growing needs.
Having been her father?s Chief of Staff for the past three years has given her the hands-on experience in anticipating, responding and sustaining programs that truly provide concrete and relevant solutions to what communities urgently need.
Del Mar was joined by fellow guest speaker JCI Sen. Dennis ?Decu? Cunanan, the JCI World Legal Counsel, and Director General of the Philippine Technology Resource Center.
The JCI-Cebu 2010 Board of Directors is headed by JCI member Christopher John Cabaral with outgoing 2009 president JCI member Christopher Camba assuming a bigger role as regional vice president for Central Visayas, JCI Philippines.
