RAFI turns over newly repaired classrooms to Badian, Boljoon

THE Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) recently turned over 12 newly repaired classrooms to the municipalities of Badian and Boljoon in the southern part of Cebu.

Through its school rehabilitation project, the foundation completed the repair of a total of 12 classrooms at Banhigan Elementary School (ES) in Badian, and Lunop ES, San Antonio ES and Nangka ES in Boljoon.

RAFI spent around P2.4 million for the construction materials while the local government units of Badian and Boljoon gave P949,315 and P1.5 million respectively as their counterpart funds for the labor.

The project is in partnership with the Department of Education-Cebu Province Division, the local government units, and the Parents-Teachers-Community Associations of recipient schools.

RAFI also sealed a memorandum of agreement with the mayors and vice mayors of Asturias, Alcoy, Bantayan, Ginatilan, Moalboal and Sogod to signal the start of the second phase of the project involving the rehabilitation of at least 78 classrooms in 25 public elementary schools.

RAFI will provide construction materials worth P18.5 million for the project.

As their labor counterpart, Asturias will contribute around P1.25 million; Alcoy, P180,000; Bantayan, P1.72 million; Ginatilan, P800,000; Moalboal, P622,000 and Sogod, P982,000.
