THE Department of Education (DepEd) Cebu City Division is moving towards enhancing the teaching skills of Science teachers.
The division has organized a faculty development training program at the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) in Lahug, Cebu City.
The first batch of trainees, composed of elementary Science teachers, successfully finished the certificate program last summer.
The second batch is currently undergoing training and has just finished two subjects: Elementary Science Curriculum and Instructional Resources in Science.
The participants organized an exhibit and a short program last Oct. 19 at the university's audio-visual room to culminate the first half of the training covering the whole first semester.
The exhibit showcased instructional resources made by the teachers, such as posters, flip charts, transparencies, story board, models, video clips and power point presentations.
Danilo Gudelosao, Science supervisor of the DepEd Cebu City Division, led the ribbon cutting ceremony to formally open the exhibit.
During the culminating activity, the science teachers vowed to finish the program and utilize whatever they have learned.
