Starting Dec. 4, the University of San Jose-Recoletos will once again open the gates of the Talavera House of Prayer-Recoletos in Greenbelt Heights, barangay Quiot, Cebu City for the sights and sounds of “Jesus World in Cebu..Bethlehem in Talavera,” featuring real-life simulations of Holy Land scenes during Jesus’ time.
Scenes from the Bible will come alive in reenactments of the court of Herod, the Nativity scene, the Annunciation, the Baptism at River Jordan and a Jewish wedding.
The inns during Jesus’ time, as well as Jacob’s well, and the various crafts practiced during such period (carpentry, masonry, shoemaking, pottery, foundry, weaving) will also be on display.
Roman soldiers and a Roman chariot and a display of 700 lit torches are also an added attractions.
An added features for this year are the Christmas lanterns, “Belens,” and a Santa Claus corner that will vivify the Christmas spirit.
The shows will be held every 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Dec. 4, 5, 6, 11 and 12.
Tickets are priced at P20, plus a minimal shuttle service fee from the USJ-R Basak Campus to Talavera Complex.
