THE subchapter of the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) in Siquijor is working with the different local government units in the province for the establishment of a “walking blood donor program.”
The program seeks to address the need of fresh blood in Siquijor and its neighboring provinces.
PNRC Siquijor officer-in-charge Louella Bael said the program targets at least 350 potential donors from each of the six municipalities.
She said the Siquijor provincial government has allocated P50,000 as counterpart fund for the blood program.
The blood program is in cooperation with the Department of Health and the Philippine Blood Coordinating Council.
