THE first Asian Cooperative Teamshop (ACT) 2009, will be held at the Cebu International Convention Center in North Reclamation Area, Mandaue City from Nov. 18 to 20.
The event, which will carry the theme ?Doing good, doing well through coopreneurship,? will tackle global economic and environmental concerns and cooperative's best practices.
This international gathering aims to develop cooperatives in Central Visayas by establishing stronger linkages among cooperatives, business matching, and by defining the Asian coop?s role on the emerging global climate change.
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is expected to grace the occasion. She will be joined by other dignitaries, including Asian Development Bank president Haruhiko Kuroda, a representative from Bill Gates Foundation, Cooperative Housing Federation of Canada director Glen Armstrong, Ayala Foundation chairman Jaime Zobel de Ayala and Finance Secretary Margarito Teves.
The National Cooperative Development Council, through its local host the Regional Cooperative Development Agency, is the lead organizer of this event.
