THE Integrated Storm Water Management (ISWM) will soon be implemented for the first time in the Philippines, specifically in Cebu City.
This will be applied in the Department of Science and Technology in Central Visayas (DOST-7) building in barangay Lahug that is still under construction.
The building will be completed in March, next year.
Kim Tae-Hyung, Economic Affairs officer of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, said the project was first done in Korea.
An on-ground facility of each constructed building is provided with pipes connected to a tank that can store large amount of rain water. The process is called ?rain water harvesting.?
The collected rain water will then undergo filtration to reduce and remove environmental contaminations.
