Voters’ education forum set

A VOTERS' education forum will be held on Dec. 5 at 1-5 p.m. at the Aula Magna Conference Hall of Basilica del Sto. Niño, Osmeña Boulevard, Cebu City.

The theme of the forum will be “E-2010: E-Voting for Change? (A Forum on Responsible Voting in an Automated Election System).”

Topics to be taken up by the Comelec and the Manila-based Computer Professionals Union are: Lay Participation in Politics and Peace, People’s Agenda for Change and People’s Criteria for Leaders and Ensuring Clean Elections in an Automated Election System.

Smartmatic has also been invited to hold a demonstration on how to vote with poll automation.

The event is organized by the Task Force on Urban Conscientization, a mission partner of the Association of Major Religious Superiors in the Philippines, and co-sponsored by Pagbabago! People’s Movement for Change Cebu and the Basilica del Sto. Niño.
