Forum: What kind of leaders do we need?

The Eduardo Aboitiz Development Studies Center (EADSC) will hold a free public forum today about choosing leaders who can best govern the country. The forum is from 1-5:30 p.m. at the EADSC in Parian, Cebu City.

Dubbed ?Genuine Leadership and Good Governance: How shall we lead the Philippines in 2010??, this second forum on understanding choices will discuss the qualities of a good public servant and other vital information to make informed choices for the 2010 elections.

Three Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. Triennial awardees were invited to speak: Upi, Maguindanao Mayor Ramon S. Piang, Mindanao State University Chancellor Eddie M. Alih, and Lihok Pilipina Foundation Inc. founder and executive director Teresa B. Fernandez.

Leading the open forum are reactors Margarita dela Cruz, Guian Development Foundation Inc. founder and executive; Dr. Antonio J. Pineda, Circles of Discernment for Elections Team Cocleader and Dilaab Foundation Inc. Board of Trustees member; and Mark Leo Chang, Association of Law Students in the Philippines president.

The forum hopes to facilitate understanding on what leaders, especially the next President of the Republic of the Philippines, should prioritize in 2010 for the attainment of human and sustainable development.

The forum is part of RAFI?s mission to democratize development through the process of dialogue, participation and empowerment, by giving a venue for participants to express personal and institutional ideas and stands on various developmental issues.
