THE SM Foundation Inc., in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the Catholic Association of the Philippines, the Batobalani Foundation and media partners, will launch the“Donate A Book” project tomorrow.
A booth will be on the lower ground floor of the main mall (fronting Air Philippines) to receive book donations from shoppers, tenants, schools and even publishing companies.
The project will run until April 18 and is supported by , SunStar Cebu, The Freeman and GMA 7.
The project has been able to collect more than two million books nationwide.
These books were distributed to public elementary and high schools, provincial and barangay libraries and day care centers all over the country to develop interest for reading, improve functional literacy and enhance comprehension, communication and creative skills of students and out-of-school youth in the area.
