Lantern tilt for Chinese horoscope

The Buddha's Light International Association (BLIA) – Cebu Chapter is organizing a lantern-making contest.

The contest is open to all the Cebuanos regardless of age, sex, education and religion.

The lantern must be based on the theme 12 Chinese animal horoscope (rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, chicken, dog and pig) and must have a size of 18 inches by 36 inches (minimum) or 24 inches by 42 inches (maximum).

The lantern must be attached to a hooking device and installed with a light with two meters long of no. 16 duplex cord starting from the receptacle to the male plug.

Each participant can submit at least one entry to a maximum of three entries.
The criteria for judging are: concept, idea, symbolism and abstract with 40 percent; art and craft, design and construction skill with 40 percent; and illumination and eye catching impact with 20 percent.

The winners will receive P8,000 cash and a certificate for the first prize, P5,000 and a certificate for the second prize and P3,000 and a certificate for the third prize.

The registration fee is P100.

The deadline for submission of entries is on January 11. The winners will be announced on January 25.
