THE Area Vocational Rehabilitation Center (AVRC) 11 in barangay Labangon, Cebu City recently celebrated its first alumni homecoming since the facility was established 34 years ago.
A number of Persons with Disabilities (PWD–) graduates from the Visayas and Mindanao and former AVRC staff attended the event.
For its more than three decades of operation, the center produced hundreds of PWDs who graduated from vocational courses like consumer electronics, carpentry and woodworks, therapeutic massage, computer technology, dress and apparel technology, motor rewinding, handicraft and cosmetology.
Most of these PWDs are now gainfully employed either through open or self employment or sheltered workshops.
Capillanes encouraged the other graduates to register with the alumni organization to expand its membership.
