Street children will experience a joyful Christmas as the Junior Chamber International (JCI), together with Omnilogy, a Filipino-run non-government organization based in New York City, brings to Cebu Israeli pianist Matan Porat from the International House of New York and the Minstrels Rhythm of Hope Ensemble from Paco, Manila on December 7.
Through a project called ?Bridging The Gap,? JCI Cebu-Mactan Channel will gather the street children at the Fuente Osmeña on December 7 and in Carreta on December 13 for an activity dubbed as START?EM (Street children ART Express Moments).
?The kids will be made to express themselves through paint on canvass in the middle of the concert,? said Jolex Yu Lim, president of JCI Cebu-Mactan Channel.
The best creative works will be put on exhibit for the guests who will witness the concert of Porat and the Paco-based ensemble composed of former street children on December 19 at the Marcelo B. Fernan Press Center Theater.
The kick-off activities for ?Bridging The Gap? project will end on December 27 with a special activity for the orphans at Sawang Calero, Cebu City, project committee chairperson Marjorie Ceniza said.
The program is expected to run until August next year.
