The Probe Media Foundation Inc. (PMFI) is inviting Cebuanos aged 15-20 years old to join the workshop on ?Youth Radio Dramas for Peace? that will be held in Cebu City on August 21 and 22.
The applicants must be a part of an organization or a club.
The organizers will shoulder the meals, workshop materials and training of the participants except for the transportation to and from the workshop venue.
The workshop provides opportunities for young Cebuanos to increase their awareness and understanding on issues like peace, religion and culture involving the Muslims and Christians.
In cooperation with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and Radio Mindanao Network (RMN), the workshop will include lectures, discussions, sharing and radio storytelling techniques.
After the workshop, the participants will produce short radio drama on the topics discussed.
They will also help professional radio drama producers of RMN plan a 50-episode series that will be aired in October and November this year.
PMFI said that radio is one of the most effective means of communication because it reaches a large and diverse audience.
The radio drama series will allow the audience to become aware on the effects of discrimination between Muslims and Christians and to realize that both Christianity and Islam are religions of peace, PMFI added.
The deadline for submission of application is August 1.
