Alarmed by the rising cases of dengue in Cebu City and in the different municipalities of Cebu Province that caused the untimely deaths of young children, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) Cebu Council will launch an anti-dengue project for 2008 on April 5.
Dubbed ?Mga Scouts: Magtinabangay Ta! Batokan ang Dengue,? the project is in cooperation with the Department of Education, Cebu Province and the Department of Health in Central Visayas (DOH-7).
A kick-off program will be held at the third floor of the BSP Cebu headquarters on N. Bacalso Avenue, Cebu City with DOH-7 director Dr. Susana Madarieta and Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña as guest speakers.
The project aims to mobilize agencies through the BSP Cebu Council to contribute to the prevention of dengue cases and related deaths in Cebu.
The BSP Cebu will conduct information dissemination on dengue and its prevention, simultaneous clean-up activities and the organization of anti-dengue patrols in all scout units.
