2 Korean students shot, wounded by robbers in Cebu City

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines — Two Korean students were shot and wounded by two unidentified men who tried to rob and abduct their female companion, also a Korean, on Tuesday night, in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.

The police identified the victims as Choi Soon Shul, 22, and Heo Yekang, 27, who were temporarily staying on F. Cabahug Street, Barangay Mabolo.

Choi suffered a gunshot wound in the left face while Heo ws hit in the right arm.

Police investigation showed that the two young men were walking home with their female companion, Anna Ho, 26, past 10 p.m. on Tuesday when four men on board separate motorcycles suddenly arrived.

They got off from the motorcycles and approached Ho. They grabbed Ho’s bag but the woman put up a fight.

The perpetrators then tried to abduct Ho but was stopped by Choi and Heo who were shot instead.

The perpetrators then took the Koreans’ belongings that included cellular phones and cash amounting to P50,000, before boarding their motorcycles.

Inspector William Alicaba, chief of the Theft of Robbery Section (TRS) said they would coordinate with the Mabolo police station where the crime was reported.

    Tourists make easy targets as criminals know the tourists won’t be around to testify against them. Wouldn’t bother me a bit if these criminals were found taking a dirt nap.

    Not out of the blue per se, it’s recurring very common. Something to look for when you are in Flipland. That’s part of the more fun. That betides when caveat from the experienced is ignored. Enough saying, you was not forewarned. Flips are rotten to the bone, nothing comes out good in that god forsaken country.
