Australian nabbed in Cebu for abuse of kids—police

CEBU — An Australian resident of Hong Kong has been arrested for sexually abusing children in the Philippines, police said Tuesday.

The man in his forties was arrested in Cebu last week while with five young boys, said Senior Inspector Sheryl Bautista.

“We checked the cellphone we seized at the arrests. It turned out he had pictures and videos of the children,” said Bautista, head of the arresting team.

The Australian said he was a resident of Hong Kong where he had a job training schoolteachers, but Bautista said they did not know if this was true.

The boys, aged nine to 13, said the man was a frequent visitor, according to Bautista.

“He had picked up many of them, coming back and forth to the Philippines. Some of the minors said they had been with him many times,” she recounted.

A Filipino taxi driver who had assisted the Australian in picking up the children was also arrested, she added.

Police plan to charge the Australian with child abuse and trafficking in children. If found guilty, he could face life in prison, Bautista said.

The children were placed in the care of the social welfare department.

The government and aid groups estimate that tens of thousands of children end up as prostitutes in the Philippines due to poverty and poor implementation of laws.

They should go to these children’s homes and monitor the other children..if there are any…majority of the time, it is the parents themselves who sell their kids to these foreigners over the internet. I wouldn’t be surprised if these same kids end up with another pedo in the future if not monitored.

Pedophiliac is a business in RP,
to see elderly with children’s on streets or Hotels is a more than a common scenery,
to be offered children’s by taxi drivers or hotels doormen is casual !

When suing a foreigner for child molestations,
it is only bringing a corruptions race opportunities to the BI,
NBI where perfect, but I had connexions, we where welcome.
The Justice wheels taking years and more, no cares, no business, as long no money involved.
but I had connexions too, otherwise, probably, no case !
    What for a leniency !

Newspapers where good, two nice reports, I had connexions…

Philippines efficiency is below zero if no connexions or incitations with tips,
    an open secret…
This kind of mentality can be observed all along, from the Lawmakers, Clergy to down the streets, its cultural.

This is the RP disaster main explanation, no accountability at all, only selfishness will prevail, too sad, no discipline at all !
