A 48-year-old Filipino male from Echo Park (AJ chose not to disclose his identity for security reasons), along with his friend and fellow church-goer, won the $15-million Super Lotto jackpot on Saturday, according to a report from Theeastsiderla.com.

The two have been buying lottery tickets together for three years before it finally yielded them the much-sought after prize money.

The Filipino winner is a sushi chef who works in Long Beach.  He was on his way home on Monday night, but made a stopover at the House of Spirits to purchase another lottery ticket and to check on a Super Lotto ticket he bought the previous week at Echo Park Avenue liquor store. That’s when he learned about the good news.
