AFTER AN ABBREVIATED elimination round, the M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala-Cebu Basketball Association resumes with the semifinal round as four teams start their battle for the two coveted slots in the finals today at the Cebu Coliseum.

The Ave Maria Sanctuary and Park will be taking on Talisay in the first game at 4 p.m. to be followed by a tiff betweent the Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute of Technology (SCSIT) Skyblazers and the Asian College of Technology (ACT) Cyber Knights.

The semis will be a single round-robin affair with the top two teams at the end of the round advancing to the championship series for the chance to bag the P200,000 cash prize.

Three of the four squads will be welcoming back their stars who recently played for the MLKP-Cebu Niños in the Liga Pilipinas tournament.

Ave Maria, with their roster already packed with former professional and collegiate stars, will be welcoming back wingman Bruce Dacia, who they will need if they are to stop Liga Pilipinas first leg MVP Jayford Rodriguez of Talisay. Also back for Talisay is explosive wingman, Ferdinand Lusdoc.

The Skyblazers will have their top scorers back in Mark Abadia and sniper Stephen Padilla, who will do battle with Eliud Poligrates, Ronald Bucao, Alano Caputolan and the rest of the Cyber Knights of team owner and Cebu City Councilor Rodrigo “Bebot” Abellanosa.
