Bam Aquino to Duterte admin: Fight for what is ours in WPS

This surveillance photo shows China’s military outpost on Zamora Reef is almost finished. CNBC has reported that China has deployed anti ship missiles and surface-to-air missile systems on Zamora and two other Philippine claimed reefs.

Senator Bam Aquino has called on the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte to fight for the country’s welfare following reports of China’s continuous militarization in the the West Philippine Sea (South China Sea).

“Ipaglaban naman natin ang talagang atin, China invaded undisputed Philippine waters and installed missiles,” Aquino said in a statement on Saturday.

According to reports, China has already installed anti-ship cruise missiles and surface-to-air missile systems on Kagitingan, Zamora, and Panganiban reefs which are being claimed by the Philippines.

“Gawain ba ‘yan ng isang kaibigan?  Kumilos naman tayo para sa kinabukasan ng bansa at ng mga Pilipino,” Aquino said.

The opposition senator also pushed for the convening of the National Security Council. Aquino added that he also had filed a Senate resolution calling for a probe into China’s installation of missile systems in the Kagitingan, Zamora and Panganiban reefs.

“We support the convening of the NSC and hope the President listens to our security experts,” he said.  /muf
