2,376 OFWs brought home from Kuwait; more to come

/ 07:00 AM March 07, 2018

The government has repatriated 2,376 distressed migrant workers from Kuwait in the past 23 days, with thousands more expected to follow.

An official of the Department of Foreign Affairs earlier said the department was expected to repatriate up to 10,000 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), mostly domestic helpers seeking to avail themselves of the Kuwaiti government’s amnesty program to get exit visas.

The amnesty program was extended until April 22. —Dona Z. Pazzibugan
