PH to host huge int’l convention of travel writers, bloggers

SAN FRANCISCO – More than a thousand travel writers, bloggers and social media experts will descend on Manila on October 13 to 16 as the Philippines won the bid to host the 2016 Travel Blog Exchange (TBEX Asia).
TBEX, which will be held at the Philippines International Convention Center in Manila, is the largest gathering of travel bloggers, writers, new media content creators and other industry professionals from North America, Europe and Asia.
The conference enables travel and tour-related companies and organizations, marketing/PR firms and their clients to connect with the top digital travel influencers and experts.
The three-day event will include various seminars, meetings and presentations with the participation of distinguished international experts, social media influencers and celebrities.
TBEX Asia 2016 will also hold various activities, tours and events featuring the Philippines’ unique offerings, as well as provide a platform for business networking with local industry members. This undertaking is expected to generate media mileage and further promote the country.
MTV Music Evolution Manila 2016
Meanwhile, MTV Music Evolution Manila 2016 returned for its second year, following the success of its launch last year. This music program recorded with over 22,000 live audience in 2015 had earned MTV the Best Entertainment (One-off/Annual) Award at the Asian Television Awards held last December 2015 in Singapore.
This year, the MTV Music Evolution Manila took place at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds last June 24, 2016. Attended by over 26,000 fans, this outdoor live music event featured stellar performances from some of the best international and local acts in celebration of dance-infused iconic and present-day pop music.
The artists who performed included the world-renowned American pop rock band OneRepublic, Billboard Hot 100 artist Bebe Rexha, K-pop female group, Apink, electric dance trio Far East Movement, the Philippines‘ very own Gary V feat. Gab Valenciano, and Filipino pop artists such as James Reid and Nadine Lustre.
MTV Asia VJs Alan Wong and Hanli Hoefer hosted the event, along with MTV Pinoy VJs Yassi Pressman and Andre Paras.
The event was recorded for global telecast under the MTV World Stage global series, and is expected to reach an international audience of over three-quarters of a billion households in more than 160 countries.
