FEATURED STORIES

The victims had just left their car in front of the former Shangri-La Spa when a speeding car driven by one Noe Yalap hit a vehicle parked nearby.

Pamela Maan, an employee at Palau-Pacific Renewables, was squeezed between a wall and the parked car and reportedly suffered serious head and body injuries. Her friends also sustained injuries to the head and different parts of the body.

They were all rushed to the Belau National Hospital for treatment. Except for Maan, all were released from the hospital after one day. Maan is in critical condition and is on a respirator.

Police officers nabbed Yalap who was believed to be intoxicated at the time of the mishap.

Maan’s husband flew in from the Philippines, and some church leaders visited her at the hospital.

The Filipino Community in Palau (TFCP) has appealed on Facebook for blood donors who can provide Type AB+ blood for Maan.
