De Lima orders Wang Bo deportation

/ 05:18 PM August 05, 2015

JUSTICE Secretary Leila De Lima has already ordered the deportation of Chinese fugitive Wang Bo a day after the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) found no evidence that bribe money was handed to lawmakers, Immigration officials and the Justice chief.

In a 9-page resolution, dated August 4, De Lima affirmed her June 8, 2015 ruling that reinstated a March 5, 2015 Summary Deportation Order (SDO) against Wang Bo and dismissed a motion for reconsideration filed by the foreigner.

De Lima said Wang Bo “has been amply heard in the deportation and appeal proceedings thru his pleadings with the BI, the Court of Appeals and his present motion for reconsideration.”

The Justice chief said “the documents presented by the Chinese embassy are sufficient basis to order the deportation of [Wang].”

The Chinese authorities are pushing for Wang Bo’s deportation. He is facing illegal gambling cases in his country.
